Congratulations to Valerio Falasca on the publication of another paper in RSC Advances from his PhD research!
In this paper, we report the synthesis of a series of novel fused-ring idronoxil derivatives incorporating coumarin, pyran, and furan moieties. Idronoxil, an isoflavene known for its anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties, served as the parent scaffold. The synthesis was achieved through structural modifications at the C6 and C7 positions of idronoxil. These findings establish synthetic strategies for the incorporation of various fused-ring systems into isoflavene scaffolds and provide insights for structure–activity optimisation.
