Delighted to welcome Dr Md Musfizur Hassan to the group as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
Dr Hassan is a highly accomplished peptide chemist and scientific leader with a strong track record across both industry and academia. He is also currently serving as a Staff Scientist and Scientific Lead in the Peptide Synthesis Facility at Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI).
He earned his PhD in 2018 from the School of Chemistry, UNSW, under the supervision of Professor Pall Thordarson, where his research focused on the design and synthesis of peptide-based biomaterials, with applications in drug delivery and cell culture scaffolds. Following his PhD, he worked as a Researcher at UNSW for Noxopharm Ltd with Professor Naresh Kumar, and later as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW, under the leadership of Professor Guangzhao Mao.
Before moving into research, Dr Hassan completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master's in Pharmaceutical Science at Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and spent five years in the pharmaceutical industry. His expertise spans pharmaceutical formulation, analytical method development (HPLC/LCMS), nanoparticle-based drug delivery, cell culture and imaging, peptide design and synthesis, quality control, and drug conjugation.
With numerous publications in high-impact journals and a strong citation record, Dr Hassan brings deep scientific insight, technical excellence, and a genuine passion for protein chemistry and bioconjugation. Outside the lab, he enjoys soccer, movies, and indoor games.
We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the impact of his contributions.
